Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy for Women

Welcome to our Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) program designed specifically for women. At Inner U Health & Wellness, we understand that hormonal balance plays a crucial role in your overall health and well-being.

What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy?
Bioidentical hormones are derived from natural sources and are chemically identical to the hormones your body produces. Unlike synthetic hormones, bioidentical hormones are designed to mimic your body’s natural hormone levels, resulting in fewer side effects and a more effective treatment.

Benefits of BHRT
Women may experience hormonal imbalances due to various factors, including pregnancy, menopause, or medical conditions. BHRT can help alleviate symptoms such as:

1. Hot Flashes and Night Sweats: Sudden feelings of heat and sweating, often during menopause.
2. Mood Swings: Increased irritability, anxiety, or agitation
3. Fatigue: Persistent tiredness or low energy levels.
4. Sleep Disturbances: Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep.
5. Irregular Periods: Changes in menstrual cycle frequency, duration, or flow.
6. Decreased Libido: Reduced interest in sexual activity.
7. Weight Gain: Unexplained weight changes, particularly around the abdomen.
8. Vaginal Dryness: Discomfort during intercourse or dryness.
9. Memory Issues: Difficulty concentrating or memory lapses.
10. Acne or Skin Changes: Breakouts or changes in skin texture.

By restoring hormonal balance, many women find renewed vitality, improved mood, and a better quality of life.

Personalized Care
Our team of experienced healthcare professionals will work closely with you to create a personalized treatment plan. This involves a comprehensive evaluation, including a detailed health history and hormone testing, to determine your specific needs.  We prioritize your comfort and safety, ensuring that you receive the highest standard of care throughout your BHRT journey.

Here are some common types:

1. Estradiol:
   - A primary form of estrogen produced by the ovaries. It helps regulate the menstrual cycle and is crucial for reproductive health. Bioidentical estradiol is often used to alleviate symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes and vaginal dryness.
2. Estrone:
   - Another form of estrogen, primarily produced in the ovaries and fat tissue. It is typically found in higher levels after menopause. Estrone can be used in bioidentical hormone therapy to help restore hormonal balance.
3. Estriol:
   - A weaker form of estrogen that is produced during pregnancy. It is sometimes used in HRT for its gentler effects and may be beneficial for vaginal health and urinary function.
4. Progesterone:
   - A hormone that prepares the uterus for pregnancy and regulates the menstrual cycle. Bioidentical progesterone can help alleviate symptoms associated with estrogen dominance, such as mood swings
and heavy periods, and is important for maintaining a healthy menstrual cycle.
5. DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone):
   - A steroid hormone produced by the adrenal glands that serves as a precursor to both estrogen and testosterone. DHEA levels decline with age, and supplementation can help improve energy, mood, and libido.
6. Testosterone:
   - Although often associated with men, testosterone is also important for women. It contributes to libido, energy levels, and overall well-being. Bioidentical testosterone can be prescribed to address low energy, decreased libido, and mood issues.
7. Thyroid Hormones (e.g., T3 and T4):
   - While not traditionally grouped with sex hormones, thyroid hormones are critical for metabolism and energy levels. Bioidentical thyroid hormone therapy can help manage symptoms of hypothyroidism, which can overlap with menopause symptoms.

What are the benefits of BHRT?
Women using BHRT often report improvements in symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, fatigue, and decreased libido. By restoring hormonal balance, many experience a renewed sense of vitality and overall better quality of life.
Are there side effects?
As with any medical treatment, some women may experience side effects. These can vary based on individual responses and the specific hormones used. Our team will closely monitor your progress and adjust as needed to minimize any adverse effects.
How long does the treatment last?
The duration of BHRT varies based on individual needs and goals. Some women may require ongoing treatment, while others may find relief after a specific period. Regular follow-ups will help determine the best course of action for you.

How do I get started?

To begin your journey with BHRT, schedule a consultation with our team. We’ll conduct a comprehensive evaluation and discuss your symptoms, health history, and treatment options.

MEN

Male Hormone Optimization and Testosterone Replacement Therapy
Welcome to Inner U Health & Wellness, where we specialize in Male Hormone Optimization and Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT). We understand that maintaining optimal hormone levels is crucial for men’s overall health, vitality, and quality of life. Our dedicated team is here to help you regain balance and enhance your well-being.

What is Male Hormone Optimization?
Male Hormone Optimization involves assessing and addressing hormonal levels in men, particularly testosterone. As men age, testosterone levels can decline, leading to a range of physical and emotional symptoms. Our approach focuses on restoring hormonal balance through personalized treatment plans tailored to your specific needs. Traditional doctors look at the ranges as all or nothing. You are either in range or out of range. Our providers take a much different approach. Our approach looks to restore testosterone levels to levels that the patient had when they felt young and vibrant, while still keeping them within the normal reference range.

What is Testosterone Replacement Therapy?
Testosterone Replacement Therapy is a medical treatment designed to restore testosterone levels to a normal range. This can help alleviate symptoms associated with low testosterone, such as:

  • Fatigue: Persistent tiredness, even after adequate rest.
  • Decreased Libido: Reduced interest in sexual activity.
  • Mood Changes: Increased irritability, anxiety, or depression.
  • Weight Changes: Unexplained weight gain or loss.
  • Muscle Weakness: Decreased muscle mass and strength.
  • Sleep Issues: Difficulty falling or staying asleep.
  • Cognitive Changes: Trouble concentrating or memory issues.

Benefits of Testosterone Replacement Therapy
Many men experience significant improvements in their quality of life after starting TRT, including:

  • - Increased energy levels
  • - Enhanced mood and reduced anxiety
  • - Improved libido and sexual performance
  • - Greater muscle mass and strength
  • - Better cognitive function and memory

Personalized Care
At Inner U Health & Wellness, we believe in a personalized approach to hormone optimization. Our experienced healthcare professionals will conduct a thorough evaluation, including hormone testing and a comprehensive health assessment, to develop a customized treatment plan that meets your individual needs.

Safety and Monitoring
Your safety is our top priority. We closely monitor your progress throughout the therapy, adjusting treatment as necessary to ensure optimal results while minimizing any potential side effects. Our team is here to support you every step of the way.

Many clinics will just continue to send out your prescriptions
month after month without requiring further blood testing or even a follow up consultation. We require our patients to have a follow up consultation and bloodwork every 3 months until optimal levels are achieved.

After that, the requirement will be to have a follow-up every 6 months. We also will provide advice on nutrition and exercise to further enhance your results!
Hormonal imbalance is a critical issue that can significantly impact men's health and well-being.

Key Functions of Testosterone
1. Sexual Health: Testosterone is vital for libido (sexual drive) and erectile function. Adequate levels support healthy sexual performance and reproductive health.
2. Muscle Mass and Strength: Testosterone promotes muscle protein synthesis, contributing to muscle growth and strength. It helps maintain lean body mass, which is essential for overall fitness and metabolism.
3. Bone Density: Testosterone plays a crucial role in maintaining bone density. Low levels can lead to decreased bone strength and an increased risk of osteoporosis and fractures.
4. Fat Distribution: This hormone influences fat distribution in the body. Healthy testosterone levels can help regulate body fat and prevent excessive accumulation, particularly around the abdomen.
5. Mood and Cognitive Function: Testosterone affects mood regulation and cognitive abilities. Low levels are linked to increased feelings of fatigue, irritability, and depression, while optimal levels can enhance mood and mental clarity.
6. Energy Levels: Testosterone contributes to overall energy and vitality. Deficient levels can lead to persistent fatigue and decreased motivation.
7. Metabolism: Testosterone influences metabolic processes, including the regulation of insulin and glucose levels. It plays a role in maintaining a healthy metabolism, which is crucial for weight management.
8. Hair Growth: This hormone is involved in regulating hair growth patterns, including facial and body hair. Imbalances can affect hair density and distribution.

MEN & WOMEN

1. Testosterone Injections: Testosterone injections are administered directly into the muscle, typically in the buttocks or thigh.

Types

  • Testosterone Cypionate: Commonly used in the U.S., it has a half-life of about 8 days.
  • Testosterone Enanthate: Similar to cypionate, it is also widely used and has a half-life of about 4.5 days.

2. Compounded Testosterone Cream For Men & Women: Compounded testosterone creams are specially formulated by licensed compounding pharmacies to meet individual dosage needs. Since they are applied
daily, they mimic natural testosterone production. This is the most physiologic and safest way to administer testosterone in our opinion.

Benefits:

  • - Customizable concentrations to suit individual requirements.
  • - Easy application and absorption through the skin.
  • - Physiologic distribution throughout the body.

Considerations:

  • - Requires careful application to avoid transferring testosterone to others (e.g., skin-to-skin contact).
  • - May have varying absorption rates depending on skin type and location of application

3. Compounded Estrogen Cream and Capsules:
Estradiol:
   - A primary form of estrogen produced by the ovaries. It helps regulate the menstrual cycle and is crucial for reproductive health. Bioidentical estradiol is often used to alleviate symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes and vaginal dryness.
Estrone:
   - Another form of estrogen, primarily produced in the ovaries and fat tissue. It is
typically found in higher levels after menopause. Estrone can be used in bioidentical hormone therapy to help restore hormonal balance.
Estriol:
   - A weaker form of estrogen that is produced during pregnancy. It is sometimes used in HRT for its gentler effects and may be beneficial for vaginal health and urinary function.

4. Compounded Progesterone Cream and Capsules:

Progesterone:
   - A hormone that prepares the uterus for pregnancy and regulates the menstrual cycle. Bioidentical progesterone can help alleviate symptoms associated with estrogen dominance, such as mood swings and heavy periods, poor sleep and is important for maintaining a healthy menstrual cycle. Progesterone is considered the “feel good hormone”

5. DHEA For Men & Women:
DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone):
   - A steroid hormone produced by the adrenal glands that serves as a precursor to both estrogen and testosterone. DHEA levels decline with age, and supplementation can help improve energy, mood, and libido.

6. Compounded Thyroid For Men and Women:
Thyroid Hormones (e.g., T3 and T4):
   - While not traditionally grouped with sex hormones, thyroid hormones are critical for metabolism and energy levels. Bioidentical thyroid hormone therapy can help manage symptoms of hypothyroidism, which can overlap with menopause symptoms.

- Thyroid optimization can help increase metabolism, increase energy, mitigate dry skin, hair loss and brittle nails. Thyroid can also help elevate mood and regulate sleep.
